shalott
I`m introducing "the
patience and caring in the lady of shalott".
This story takes place near
a place called Camelot. There is also a river which inside has an island,
inhere lives in a little castle The Lady of Shalott. this lady was cursed for
some mysterious reason, the thing is that she was cursed. So she had a mirror
an obviously this mirror gives backwards the image in it. So now that you had
already entered in context, we can not advance without having this two words;
patience and caring. Cleared.
It is called patience to
the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, problems, or suffering without
becoming annoyed or anxious.
And also caring is the work
or practice of looking after those unable to care for themselves, especially on
account of age or illness. So now that we understand this concepts, we can
continue.
For me, in this story there
was not a caring of the people for the lady of shallot at all. This people can
not really see her but she was screaming and making noises and the people just
decided to ignore her. I ignore the reasons why she was cursed but I think
there is not a right reason to treat a person like that, or a ghost, spectrum,
what ever she was. She only needed attention. Can you imagine how horrible
could it be this situation? Living that way wit no one seeing you. It could be
devastating.
So now, talking about the
patience, I think she had a lot of patience, because she knew she was cursed
and she should not had any hope, but she decided to have it. She decided to
pursuit that feeling in the inside that told her to had hope, to ignore the
curse, but this feeling did not worked too good for her at all. So she remained
patience in her dimension, waiting for someone or something to see her and to
change her situation. This, as you know, did not happened, but at least she
tried. She saw a man called sir lacelot. When this man appeared, he got there
with a shiny armor and full of jewels, he was shining everywhere, these
captivated the attention of the lady of shallot, so she thought this was her
hope, and rescuer (I think). So she decided to break the rule, she saw at the
outside, she saw Camelot, she saw sir lancelot , and at the time she did it,
she realized that her enchanted mirror was breaking into peaces, so she was
dying there and she got to a boat where she dyed.
So, I think the lady was
patience in all the story, but , at the end, like a paradox, she broke that
patience into pieces literally. So I don’t really know if in this story there
is patience at all, Because she knew that it would happen, she knew she would
die, but she decided to ignore it and look to her window.
