The hermetic principles

The hermetic principles consists in only seven facts that the “kybalion” refers to the teachings of Hermes Trismegistus. It is told that this principles will make of you a better and wiser person if you learn and interiorize it.

This principles are the following:

Mentalism-correspondence-vibration-polarity-rhythm-cause & effect-gender.

•Mentalism embodies the idea that “all is mind”. Everything that happens has to be a result of a mental state which precedes it. This principle talk about the attraction law that says “if you have it in your head, eventually you will have it in your hands”.

•Correspondence expresses the idea that there is always a correspondence between the laws of phenomena of the various "planes" of being and life. As above so below & as below, so above. This principle states that there is a harmony in the three great planes: physical, mental, and spiritual.

•Vibration expounds the idea that motion is manifest in everything in the Universe, that nothing rests, and everything moves, vibrates and circles. Mental Transmutation is described as the practical application of this principle. To change one's mental state is to change vibration.

•Polarity embodies the idea that everything is dual, everything has two poles, and everything has its opposite. All truths are but half truths and every truth is half false, there are two sides to everything, opposites are identical in nature yet different in degree, extremes meet, and all paradoxes may be reconciled. This is a very interesting principle because it talks about half truths and it confirms that we all will never know the real truth or all the knowledge that exists in universe. 

•Rhythm expresses the idea that in everything there is manifested a measured motion, a to and from, a flow and inflow, a swing backward and forward, a pendulum-like movement (the rhythm is the balance). There is rhythm between every pair of opposites, or poles, and is closely related to the Principle of Polarity.

•Cause & effect explains that there is a cause for every effect, and an effect for every cause. It also states that there is no such thing as chance, that chance is merely a term indicating extant causes not recognized or perceived.

•Gender embodies the idea that gender is manifested in everything. There is a masculine and feminine in everything (is related to polarity).
